With the need greater than ever for families who may otherwise not be able to provide gifts for their children this Christmas, our community donated over 1300 gifts to children in the local area.
The Charity Representatives worked hard in houses to encourage pupils to bring in toys, and many thanks also go to Epsom parents for their key role in facilitating this spectacular effort. The gifts were wrapped by volunteers and will be distributed throughout the local area before Christmas. Growbaby works hard to make sure that each gift given is as perfect for that child as possible – from Hot Wheels and stuffed dinosaurs to toiletry sets.
Mrs Tanya Van Dalen, Director of Growbaby Kingston, spoke in Chapel, sharing personal stories of the children and families who will receive our gifts. This year, there are a number of families being supported by Growbaby who are refugees, having fled their home countries where there is conflict. One family in particular will be united this Christmas and for the young girl who will join her family in the UK, Tanya had already spotted amongst our gifts one which might be perfect for her.
The Charities Committee and the Chaplaincy Team send their very grateful thanks to everyone who supported the Toy Drive this year.
