Spreading Festive Cheer at the Christmas Market

This week saw Epsom's youngest pupils make Christmas gifts to sell to their peers at the Christmas Market. Year 7 pupils Amelie Quinnell and Scarlett Allis share their experience.

The Christmas Market was fun and original. In German, we made Christmas baubles to light up family Christmas trees. In French, we labelled candy canes with French messages – to put a smile on everyone’s face. Finally, in Spanish, we made lolly bags with Spanish Chupa Chups, which everyone loves!

It was a whirl of excitement and joy, with delicious treats and gifts in every corner. People behind the stalls gave you a smile (and some change), they where eager and ready to help. The customers were overjoyed with the options and couldn’t wait to try the sweet treats.

We are awaiting news of the final total of funds raised, however we already know that £50 was collected alone via our Just Giving page. All funds will be donated to Speech and Language UK, which provides much needed help to children with speech difficulties.

It was a joy to be a part of and really brought out the Christmas Spirit.
