The annual AGI (Annual General Inspection) Day with all the usual pomp, ceremony and attention to the finest details took place this week, with our tri-service CCF representing the College impeccably (watch the film below).
Events were presided over by our guests of honour, Major General Chris Ghika CBE as the Inspecting Officer, and the former Chaplain General, the Venerable Stephen Robbins (Major General).
We were incredibly honoured to have Major General Ghika attend in the morning, as that afternoon he was in London overseeing plans for the Coronation of King Charles III.
Events began with a service of dedication in the Chapel of St Luke’s with Major General Robbins offering the sermon. The full Band of the Scots Guards were in attendance throughout the morning.
This year’s proceedings took on a particularly poignant and respectful air, as all members of the College community reflected on the lives of Emma and Lettie Pattison. Indeed, it was a great honour for the College to be presented with a piece of music specially commissioned and composed in memory of Emma and Lettie. After the performance of the piece by the Band of the Scots Guards, Major General Ghika commented that the composition was “incredibly moving, but also full of life; the perfect tribute”.
The cadets were then inspected before Major Williams, Major General Ghika, Sir Anthony Seldon and RSM Arthur van Grondelle signed a Bond of Friendship confirming the commitment of the Band to assist the College in future AGI days.
